As a mum of two children with complex needs I often reflect on the journey we have travelled. My mind immediately returns to being sat under a school table in the school's sensory room with my 5 year old in my arms and both of us just sobbing. It was a complete crisis point and I had never felt so alone. Since that day we have had battles, huge leaps of progress, steps backwards, celebrations, tears and success. I have seen the power of the correct support being in place and have felt the devastation of your child completely falling apart and their fate in someone else's hands.

I went on a mission, I completed my IPSEA Levels 1, 2 and 3. I began volunteering supporting families of SEN children and eventually joined my local SENDiass Service. It has been an absolute pleasure of a job that I absolutely adored and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity. I have completed my Level 3 safeguarding and a number of short courses to enhance my knowledge. Now, I am looking towards the future and providing affordable services to support those most in need of help.
